World premiere of the 24 Preludes and Fugues

Last december 14th was performed in Moscow the world premiereof the 24 Preludes and Fugues composed in the Gulag by Vsevolod Petrovich Zaderatsky. This work composed in 1937/1938 in a labor camp, under conditions of extreme poverty, on telegrams forms, without piano, is strictly monumental, both for its inherent quality as by the circumstances of its genesis. 6 pianists from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory took turns for a 3 hours concert in the Rachmaninov Hall of the Conservatory : (...) 15 october 2009, in Moscow, at the Glinka Museum (music museum), there was a concert-conference to present the biography of Vsevolod Petrovich, written by his son ("Per aspera …"). Vsevolod Zaderatsky jr gave a conference about his father’s life and work.
